The Wax-Oil Sticks are designed for drawing or painting, and allowing you to apply colour to the painting support without need for brushes or painting knives – perfect for plein air adventures. Each Oil Stick is approximately 40ml, 12cm by 2.5cm.

Formed from natural waxes, oil, and high quality pigments (the same ones in the oil paints). The applied colour can be thinned or re-worked with diluent, solvents or mediums as required to modulate the colour on the surface. They can also be applied over dried layers of oil paint, or incorporated and blended with fresh oil paints on the painting surface.

With a long drying curve of around 3-5 days, the applied colour can be modified on the painting support with brushes, knives or other tools, and do not skin over, meaning they will stay fresh to use for many months.

The Wax-Oil Sticks can be applied to most surfaces suitable for oil painting. Ideal surfaces are matt or satin, and give key for application. Avoid very glossy surfaces.
