Handcrafted in Yorkshire, these acrylics intend to give painters the richest, most expressive acrylic medium possible.
High quality pigments, dispersed into a light and age-resistant flexible acrylic polymer, to create a viscous paste with maximum pigmentation. The result dries to a flexible, permanent film with exceptional colour depth — and because the range is produced in small batches, the colour consistency and quality is maintained at a level simply not achievable in mass production.
Dilute with water as required: dries to a permanent, flexible film. Can be applied to any dirt-free or grease-free painting support, with brushes, spatula, painting knives, etc. Clean-up with water.
When wet, acrylic paints are a little lighter than when dry, so there is a subtle colour shift from wet to dry. This is due to the acrylic emulsion being a milky white colour when wet – as the water dries out of the emulsion it becomes completely clear, leading to a slightly clearer colour. Wallace Seymour’s high pigment load means this shift is less pronounced than in many commercial ranges — the colour you see wet is close to the colour you get dry.
Because these acrylics are slow drying (relative to mass produced paints), they lend themselves to print-making. They are compatible with standard acrylic mediums, grounds and varnishes, and work well in mixed media contexts alongside watercolour grounds, oil pastel resists, and collage.
